Dear blogshopreneur, did your blogshop last more than 3 months? If you have hop onto the spree wagon by opening a blogshop, you might realize that you might be closing your online store down sooner than you expected.
Well, I’m not discouraging you from taking the path of entrepreneurship but we have to face the reality of the harsh business world. The most common reason for the closure or can I say the failure of a blogshop is due to lack of commitment, time or simply poor business.
If you fall into the categories of not having the passion and time to commit into your blogshop, you should seriously reconsider your online venture. An idea isn’t just enough to fuel a business nowadays. You need the commitment, time and most importantly enthusiasm. Most blogshops owners that I have came upon, revealed to me that they could not manage their blogshop for more than 3 months.
Some reasons they gave are, poor sales results, interest drying up or simply lack of time and commitment. I told them, the result usually follow after more than few months or more, unless you have some really unique products. The mantra, “Hard work pays off, apply to blogshop business too”.
There is a saying, opening a blogshop business is easy but maintaining one is hard work. From promoting your newly create web store, seeking out possible cheap sources of products and goods to providing excellent customer services, all these simply required tons of effort, perseverance and hard work.
But if you think that you need to spend hours camping on the Internet with your online shop, think again, doesn’t it defeat your original purpose? Well, have you starts a blogshop simply because you wish to remove the time engagement of maintain a physical shop? So if you continue to spend as much time as you would on a physical shop, you are not achieving the balance.
Here are some questions to ask yourself, before you decide whether you would want to be a blogshopreneur
- What is my reason for opening this blogshop? Purely for leisure, or serious business?
- Do I have the time to commit into my blogshop business for around at least 6 months to a year?
- Am I easily disheartened by sales results?
- Am I willingly to invest into new technologies or expertise in order to generate more sales for more blogshop business?
- Do I have a constant and reliable source to get cheap or unique products?
- Do I have enough capital to fund my purchase of products?
- Can I handle all the sales, purchasing and operation alone? If starting a team blogshop together, am I able to work in a team?
- Am I willingly to build up trust and provide good service with my customers?
When you answered “Yes” to half of the questions above, well you could consider becoming a blogshopreneur. Bear in mind that the products is the most important part in any blogshop success. Quality and cheap products not only pamper your customers, it built trust and foster long standing customers relationship.
